Chinese Tattoos

At the present time, more and more people are getting into tattoos. But one of the problems with getting tattoos is finding good designs. It is unfortunate that people tend to "settle" for a tattoo – something that is going to be ingrained into their body for a long time to come. Women, in particular, should not be settling for a chest tattoo that they do not like at all. If you're still a teenager, and are rushing the decision to get a chest tattoo, it is good advice for you to wait till you can make a more well informed decision.

An emerging trend in tattoos is a fascination with Chinese tattoo patterns and symbols. Incidentally, tattooing in China goes back further than in does in the West. In America and Europe, the art of tattooing did not become popular until the late 1900s. It exploded in its use and popularity toward the early part of the 21st century. In contrast, tattooing has been around throughout the history of Asian cultures like China.

However, one irony behind tattoos in Asian cultures is that tattoos were used to brand social deviants and criminals. Nonetheless, Chinese tattoo patterns and symbols have been adopted into the western repertoire of tattoo patterns. One of the special aspects of the Chinese tattoo is that its writing has been used as an excellent work of art and this has heightened the interest of many tattoo lovers in Chinese calligraphy and design.

Many tattoo enthusiasts in the west have taken to Chinese symbols for making tattoos. The beuaty behind Chinese script lends itself to creating a sense of mystery to tattoo designs since it is not easily made out by the average westerner. Some of the most popular Chinese themes are symbols representing values like love, power and strength.
