Neck Tattoo Designs

Tattoos are as different as the persons sporting them. And of all tattoos neck tattoos are the most fascinating and as such needs particular care when inking them in. Neck tattoos belong to that region of the body between the collarbone and chin. Until recently this area was not very popular with enthusiasts, but it is getting more and more popular these days. The accepted region is either the sides of the neck in parallel to the jawbone or right at the nape of the neck. Next to tattoos done on the face, neck tattoos on the sides of the neck are the most visible. But the ones on the nape are not at all so. This is very convenient for women and men with long hair, if they do not want to show off their body art.

But a word of caution: neck tattoos are much more painful than the ones on other parts of the body. This is because there are no muscles or fat padding between the skin and the bone. It takes longer for a neck tattoo to heal for the same reason. Then there is the rubbing of clothes on the skin, which only goes to worsen the situation. We constantly turn our heads this way and that giving rise to friction, which makes freshly tattooed skin difficult to heal. Tattoos usually take some 2 to 3 weeks to heal but neck tattoos can take longer due to reasons already mentioned. This also makes inking in again necessary, but re-inking is much less painful and takes hardly any time.

Fortunately neck tattoos tend to have less infection than other parts of the body. It is better to take some precautions if you are the proud owner of a neck tattoo, like protecting the skin on the nape from direct exposure to sunlight. All that sunlight falling on your neck makes the ink to fade. However, making use of a sunscreen can prevent this. But think twice before you make a beeline to the nearest tattoo artist. Some employers do not like body art that is conspicuously visible.
